City Spotlight: Seattle

Seattle was a game changer, in the sense that living in LA and NYC, I haven’t spent much time in a coastal town quite like Seattle. The first thing that hit me was the smell. Everywhere we went, I was reminded of the past because the smells are so powerful and full of all things Seattle, from the seafood restaurants, sprinkled on the pier to the flowers at the market to the dew on top of the foliage, it was incredible to smell again (LA and NYC don’t have the best smells).

Seattle was also great in the sense that it felt bootstrapped. Everywhere you looked, people seemed to have an entrepreneur spirit to cultivate the Seattle culture and share it with the tourists. I especially loved spending time bouncing around different thrift stores.  Digging through vintage pieces, especially ones with military history and aesthetic always inspire designs for upcoming collections.
